Insurance Options for AFT Members!
The voluntary insurance programs offered through
Member Benefits were designed to help the AFT membership
“fill the gaps”
in coverage by offering products that supplement existing insurance plans, or offer programs that are unique in that they can only be purchased through the “insurance portal” created by union membership.
Each program addresses a specific need and, with the exception of the no-cost term life and disability income plans, provides coverage for spouses, domestic partners, and eligible dependents. In addition, many of the plans

$10,000 No-Cost Term Life Insurance
Available to new AFT members during their first year of membership.
(New members only.)
Voluntary Group Term Life Insurance
Up to 6 times annual salary to a maximum of $1,000,000.
Disability Income Insurance
Choice of five plans Covers accident and sickness on and off the job.
Universal Life Insurance
Guaranteed Issue coverage available for members up to $150,000, "Living Benefits", including a long-term care rider.
Limited Medical Plan
Fixed payment reimbursement plan for listed medical services, including a generic prescription drug program.
